To Se(a)ttle

It's been terribly hot and sunny these last days. The sun and I are not very good friends, I feel down and confused with too much light and heat. The good news is that in the morning is foggy and cool, and so are the nights.
Whoever read "The Stranger" can relate with this aversion and maybe my friends in WA too.

School. The children started school on Wednesday and so far, so good. The night before I realized that I hadn't received a list of supplies to buy. The kids just carried their lunchboxes in their backpacks the first day.
Actually, the school give the children the supplies they need. They came home with beautiful folders... and homework.
They also feed ALL the children breakfast before class starts. The lunch menu is very healthy and they use organic produce.

So far, I have no complains about Berkeley School District. Well, I hope they fix the problem with our address and the bus starts driving the kids to school.

People. It's fascinating noticing the differences between people in WA and CA. Here they make eye contact and even smile at you. The other day I was on the street with my boy and I asked him if had a booger on my face. What other reason would have people to stare at you? By the way, I had no booger.
Living in Washington, I got tired of trying to be social and I decided not looking and not talking to anyone unless they talked to me. By then I already had my group of close friends and I think of them everyday. XO

As you know the house is on a hill and I still drive more than I wanted. However, the view is so beautiful that it makes up for all the driving.
